2005 has proven to be a good year so far.
I will be filming my Premium Blend set on Comedy Central this August...not sure when it will air. Most likely in December or January. Validation of sorts...feels good. And congratulations are also in order to my buddies Brendon Walsh, Jim Hamilton, David Huntsberger and Chris Mata for making the cut this year as well. All funny guys who deserve more recognition.
What I'm really excited about, however, is the release of my book (sounds ambitious, but it's not really), A Cynic's Guide to a Rich and Full Life. It's my response to those 'little treasure books' you find in the gift section of Barnes & Nobles. One example of this sappy pap: "Buy a box of 64 crayons, lie on the floor, and color your troubles away". Sure, that'll work. Then I'll pay my rent with the laughter of children. So anyhoo, check out a sample by clicking on the link above.
Besides that, last year I sold a short screenplay to a fellow at Scott Rudin Productions (The Firm, Manchurian Candidate, The Village, etc.), and it looks like production will start this fall sometime. Still looking for the lead. I can see Todd Barry playing the part, and I'd LOVE to see Sarah Silverman playing the second lead, but those are pipe dreams, I reckon.
All this and my good friend, Allison Castillo keeps wearing my shirts on VH-1's Best Week Ever. Gotta love that free publicity, even though the screen time is about two seconds. So that's all for now. Too bad I don't have a fan base, this shit might be interesting for people who aren't me. Sigh. Tear. Sniff.
